Plow Horses and Tulip Time

Last Saturday we had fun being outside! We started out by heading south to near Grandpa Feenstra's farm where they were using huge horses to plow a field. They had at least 15 teams of horses plowing the field. We went on a great wagon ride and then the oldest three kids all rode behind the horses and plowed the field!

After that we headed towards Holland where we went to the Tulip Time Parade! It was warm and sunny...what a great parade...Gavin danced to every band that went by!

Lucas and Ian on the wagon ride.

Gavin didn't like the horses much so he and grandma sat way in the back.

Kendra enjoying the ride and the apple blossoms.

Lucas on the back of the wagon.

Ian heading out to plow the field.

Kendra and Lucas were arguing about who would go first...then the farmer said they could ride together...so off the went!

Coming back...the horses were huge! They even know left from right...my kids don't even know that!

Gavin badly wanted to pick a tulip for Grandma...so they decided to pick one out, just not pick it from it's stem.

Ian waiting for the parade.

what kind of wagon is that??? With big soft seats? That's way too cushy for a horse drawn wagon... (or maybe I'm just jealous?)
