Have you....

Danced in sprinkler just because you can?

Enjoyed some really cold water because it is hot outside?

Done the hula even though you live in Michigan?

Driven a little red and yellow car because you are just plain cute?

Done what ever Ian is doing because there is one more day of school?

Well, you should because that is what life is all about...or should be:)

Timber Town with Lucas

For Lucas' last day of 3-school we went to Timber Town...a great wooden play ground just outside of Zeeland. His teacher, Mrs. Scholten had lots of fun things planned! First, he and the 12 other boys in his class...yep, no girls...played on the toys, then they played the a parachute then bubbles and chalk. Finally we had a snack, gave the ducks and geese a snack, went on a scavenger hunt, made visors, had faces painted and then went home...what a busy 2 hours! The best part, was that daddy was able to come along because he had the day off from work!!!

Lucas and his teacher Mrs. Scholten! See the cool visor Lucas made...it even had his name written on it in his own hand writing!

Climbing way up high on the toys!

Kendra came along to play too!

Gavin found this group of little houses that he climbed back and forth on. I watched him for quite some time waiting for him to fall off, he never did:)

I think that Matt had fun too! Here he is tracing Gavin on the ground.

Tunnel Park FUN!

Fun in the Sun can sum up our day yesterday! It was about 85 at Lake Michigan...something unheard of this early in the spring! The water was only about 50, but that didn't stop any of the kids from putting feet or even a little more of their bodies in it! We went to Tunnel Park for Kendra's Young Five's Picnic! We had tons of fun....did lots of great activities, ate lots for yummy food and even played in the sand and water! Here are some of the best pictures from the day!

Kendra's Young 5's class...she is in the morning class and both class were there, so she only knew about half of the kids....had fun anyway! Can you find her with the pink hat? Gavin is sitting by Mrs. Kamps, her teacher, right behind her!

Kendra and her friend Erin in the space ship.

Kendra digging in the sand...she ended up wet all the way to her waist...she reports that she wasn't even cold.

Gavin blowing bubbles...who couldn't love that face???

Lucas sitting up at the top of the dune...getting ready to run down. I think he had sand just about everywhere you could have sand:)

Members Only!

Tonight we went to the zoo....members only invited. We received this great Christmas present, thanks Megan and Josh, which gives us unlimited visits to the John Ball Park Zoo as well as special invitations to some members only events. Tonight was one of those. We decided to go since Matt was out of town and we needed something to do. Ian was looking forward to being able to pet the sting rays again, but they just arrived yesterday and weren't ready for petting yet....we did get a coupon to be used later this summer...Ian is already planning on going back. So... since we couldn't pet the stingrays, we went and saw the rest of the animals. We ate popcorn and drank lemonade too...it was a beautiful evening to take in the zoo!

"The Kids"

Kendra & Lucas watching the bald eagles which were talking to them!

Ian is currently in love with any type of eagle or falcon....he can identify most just by looking at them....and it right almost every time! He took this picture of a golden eagle...he also read the entire sign and spent the rest of the evening telling me about it:)

Kendra and Lucas watching the "big monkeys." Doesn't it look like one is sitting on Lucas' head? Oh, no pictures of Gavin....he was along he was just in the stroller the whole time because he walks too slow:)

Tulip Time

Tiptoe, through the tulips.....that is what we did this week in Holland! On Wednesday Ian had the day off from school, so we headed for the parade! Matt put our blanket out for us on the way to work, so all we had to do was find a place to park....we only parked about 2 miles away!!! The kids were great and walked the whole way there and back....Lucas and Gavin did ride in the stroller! Then, Thursday evening we left daddy at home and went to see the dutch dancers! We also checked out the fish pond and some tulips at the park. On Saturday we went to another parade...left daddy home for that one too! It was beautiful weather...all got a little sun, but the parades were favorite parts of everyone's day. Ian and Lucas liked the bands, Kendra liked all of the "queens" from the different festivals from around the state. All in all it was lots of fun, even if daddy didn't come along.....oh, the traffic wasn't too bad either:)

Kendra, Lucas, Ian & Gavin in the park.
(Gavin did not want his picture taken!)

Lucas, Gavin & Kendra watching the street scrubbers in Wednesday's parade.

Gavin & Lucas messing around in the stroller! They are supposed to be watching the dutch dancers:)

A really cute picture of Lucas...couldn't help myself!

Bicycle Parade

Tulip time in Holland is always an exciting time....except that we try to stay away. It is just too busy and too much work to drive anywhere. But, if you come to Zeeland Christian School on a sunny Tuesday morning there is a much more exciting time to be had and it is easier to get to with better parking. It is the 3-school bicycle parade! This year, Lucas got to take part and had a wonderful time! Check out the latest and greatest pictures of this amazing annual event!!

Lucas decorated his bike during school and the he rode it in the front bus drive.

Ready to roll!

Riding in front of an audience is always fun! Ian's 1st grade class came out to watch!
