Lunch Date!

Matt and I had an unexpected lunch date while my mom took the kids out for lunch and a movie.  Qdoba....yumm!

I made a rug!  I couldn't find anything I liked in any stores...so I made one!  Love it and it looks great with the rest of the kitchen!

Kendra got her glasses today....so cute!

Haircut

I got my hair cut...since I wouldn't see Matt before I slept on it...I sent a picture from work!  Don't like pictures of myself...but oh well!!!

Kendra's Tabernacle

Kendra recently had an assignment at school where she needed to make the tabernacle as described in the Bible.  She did a great job figuring out how to make everything.  Amazing what you can do with play dough!

I love when it's all done!  Just have to get the kids to carry it upstairs and put it away!

Vacation aftermath!!!

And this was after I had done 3 loads of towels and 3 loads of sheets!!!!

On the road again....

Four of the best kids in the world!!!!  Love them!!!

Pretty good looking family if you ask me:)  Can you tell it was windy? 

We left Galveston Island via ferry.  There is a ferry that runs from the east end of the island back to the mainland.  It was fun waiting and then driving on!

There's the van...right next to the trailer.  We could have stayed in the van for the 20 min. trip, but instead headed upstairs to look at the ocean liners and look for dolphins.  We did spot 2 dolphins but they were quite far away.

Just to show that I was along on the trip...I seem to always have the camera and end up in very few pictures:)

After the ferry we headed east to catch I-10.  We stopped for lunch somewhere in Louisianna...there was a small pool with alligators in it..the kids loved it!

Then into Mississippi.  We actually crossed the Mississippi river 3 times on the way home. 

And finally into Tennessee.  We stopped for the night in Memphis. 

The next morning we went into Arkansas...

Missouri....

Illinois...

We stopped for lunch somewhere in Illinois - then into....

Indiana and finally....

Michigan!!!!!

And this awesome guy drove the whole way!!!!

Into Houston!

We headed into Houston on Wednesday.  We first topped at Space Center Houston.  There were many things to see and do.  We waited in line for a tram ride through the Johnson Space Center, but they canceled them right when we were ready to board due to thunder and lightening.  So...we did lots of other things!

We watched 2 different movies about the space program...and looked at many replicas and real space craft!

In the children's learning area Matt and Lucas pumped a rocket up and then made it fly!

Kendra. Ian and Gavin took off in an Apollo rocket!  They are laying on their backs ready for take off.

After some lunch in the parking lot...we blasted off to the zoo!

We headed for the Houston Zoo!  Since we are members of the John Ball Park Zoo here in Grand Rapids, we were able to get into the Houston Zoo for free!!!  Love that reciprocal  zoo list!

When your name is Lucas...everything is for climbing!  So, climbing he did!  Crazy kid!

There weren't even any animals in the this exhibit...except for the rare Wiersma family:)
